“Explanatory Style” by Aly Lallatin

Explanatory style is the way an individual explains the events in their life. There are many various explanatory styles, one of which is to blame all failures on outside sources; the fault always lies with others.

My sister exemplifies this. When she succeeds, she is perfectly happy to take credit, but when she fails, it is never her fault. She blames someone else’s stupidity, or the test was unfair, or she was misinformed, or a thousand other reasons. No matter what her failure large or small, she habitually blames it on someone else.

This is an example of explanatory style because my sister habitually attributes her failure to others- that is how she explains the events in her life.
